These gluten free parmesan crusted tilapia filets taste just like the gluten-filled ones you can find at Costco or Sam's Club. They're super easy to make and a family favorite!
½cupgluten free bread crumbsAleia's Panko-style are my favorite
¼cupfreshly grated parmesan cheese
⅛teaspoongarlic powder
¼teaspoondried basil
pepper/salt to taste
⅓cupbuttermilk
3tilapia filletsabout 12 oz total
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine bread crumbs, parmesan, garlic powder, basil, and pepper/salt on a shallow plate, or a paper plate with a lip. Stir until all ingredients are distributed evenly.
Add buttermilk to another plate.
Dip both sides of tilapia fillet in buttermilk.
Transfer to tortilla crumbs and turn to coat. Press crumbs evenly over both sides so fish is completely covered.
Repeat with remaining fillets.
Place tilapia on prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes. Fish should flake easily. I baked mine for 20.
Serve with potatoes or rice and a side of tartar sauce.
