Chunky Monkey Protein Ice Cream, a creamy, high-protein treat with banana, chocolate chunks, and walnuts made in the Ninja Creami. It's a tasty, guilt-free version of the Ben & Jerry's classic!
Place banana chunks in bottom of Ninja Creami pint container and puree with an immersion blender or mash with a fork.
Add protein powder and milk and whisk or blend with immersion blender until smooth.
Place lid tightly on the jar and place on an even surface in your freezer at least 8 hours or overnight.
When you're ready for ice cream, remove the pint container from the freezer and take off the lid.
Insert pint into Ninja Creami bowl and twist until it clicks into place.
Process on "lite ice cream" setting.
If it is crumbly on top, use a re-spin cycle. If it's still crumbly, add a splash of milk and re-spin again.
There should be a well in the center, if there's not then use a spoon to make one. Pour chocolate chips and walnuts into the center select "mix-in" cycle.
Remove and eat right away. Enjoy!
Notes
Milk Options
I recommend using whole milk for the creamiest texture.
To Make Dairy-Free
Use a dairy-free milk such as Oatly full fat (the higher fat content makes for a creamy texture) and dairy-free protein powder. Be sure it's one you like as the flavor will come through! I recommend Truvani or Just Ingredients, linked below.
If your ice cream is crumbly on top after the first cycle, just hit the re-spin button. You can also add a splash of milk to soften.I have found that dairy-free options tend to get more crumbly; using a df milk with higher fat content such as Oatly full fat can help with that, as can a couple re-spins.
