Strawberry Lassi

Strawberry Lassi is a classic refreshing drink from India. It is yogurt based and minimally sweetened, a perfect treat for the whole family!

Don’t be intimidated by the name, this Strawberry Lassi is really just a simple yogurt smoothie. Although Lassis have been a staple in India for many years, variations are just now gaining popularity in the United States.

A traditional Lassi is a mixture of yogurt, salt, and water (you can read more details on Wikipedia). There are many variations throughout India and other countries, and in the USA the mango and strawberry lassi are definitely top on the list.

The strawberry lassi we are featuring today is a loose variation, but tasty nonetheless. It features creamy (and healthy!) plain Greek yogurt as a base, with the perfect amount of strawberries and sweetener of your choice to create a tasty and refreshing drink.

This is one of those magical recipes the whole family will like 😉

Strawberry Lassi is a classic refreshing drink from India. It is yogurt based and minimally sweetened, a perfect treat for the whole family!

My kids LOVE to make Strawberry Lassi and it’s easy to whip up anytime because it features simple ingredients like plain Greek yogurt and frozen strawberries. It’s sweet enough for the kiddos and healthy enough for me 🙂

You can easily customize this recipe to your liking, using any sweetener you want. I usually add a few packets of stevia or monk fruit to cut down on sugar, both are natural sugar-free options. Honey is another great option, but feel free to use anything you have on hand and just sweeten to taste.

For fun, I often serve this Strawberry Lassi in a fun glass with a party straw, topped with a dollop of whipped cream or Greek yogurt and a fresh or frozen strawberry.

Whether you want to dress up this drink or just make the simple recipe, this Strawberry Lassi will stand out all on its own.

I just made this as my first recipe with my new Ninja blender. I admit I was just eyeballing the right amounts for each ingredient, but it fit absolutely *perfectly* into my single-serve Ninja cup! I made it with honey and it tastes delicious! I want to throw in some frozen blueberries with it next time I make this, which will be soon!

Oh my goodness, I’m looking forward to trying this! Do you know whether coconut milk might work in place of milk?

I haven't tried it, but guessing it would work just fine. You may need to adjust a bit to get the consistency you want.

Any idea how long these could store in the fridge? My 2 year old would be drinking smaller portions but I’d love to make some to last us a few days!

Ours have never lasted more than a day, we drink it too fast haha! I would say keeping it within 2-3 days would yield the best results.
